The Regulator set the tariff for electricity transmission of NPC “Ukrenergo” for 2022

✔️December 1, an open hearing was held by the NEURC to discuss the approval of the transmission tariff of NPC “Ukrenergo” for 2022, which is the main financial source for payments to producers of renewable energy sources.

🔻Based on the results of the meeting, the Regulator made a decision and set the tariff for electricity transmission of NPC “Ukrenergo” for 2022 at UAH 345.64/MWh.

It is important that the calculation of the tariff did not take into account 20% of payments under the “green” tariff to producers of electricity from RES, which should be covered by funding from the state budget, at present this amount is not included in the budget for 2022.

We will remind that according to calculations of TSO the tariff should make 458,83 UAH/MWh.

✔️EUEA independently and together with international business associations have repeatedly requested to review the structure and amount of the tariff for electricity transmission services of NPC “Ukrenergo” for 2022  to provide sufficient funds for 100% of the calculations of SE “Guaranteed Buyer” for electricity purchased in 2021-2022 from RES electricity producers operating at the “green” tariff.

❗️The decision made by the Regulator at the meeting not only doesn’t meet the requirements of current legislation of Ukraine, in particular the Law of Ukraine “On Electricity Market”, but also violates Ukraine’s international obligations to the IMF, other international financial organizations, RES investors, investors in the bonds of NPC “Ukrenergo”, signed by the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the NEURC.
