The specialty “Energy Management” was opened in 1997.
The Department of Heat Engineering and Energy Saving prepares specialists in energy management (EM): for fuel and energy and electricity complexes, industrial enterprises of all industries; administrations and government agencies, research, design organizations; Housing and agriculture; water and rail transport facilities; various companies, agencies, associations and other structures.
The main task of EM specialists is to ensure the efficient use of all types of energy. They are able to carry out energy audits and business planning, choose energy efficient equipment; to carry out measurements with the use of modern complexes and verification of data and calculations of efficient modes of energy use; create modern energy management systems; work on modern energy-saving technologies; to monitor energy consumption and environmental status of industrial enterprises and organizations at the regional level on the basis of widespread use of mathematical models, information and computer technology, modern laboratories.
EM specialists are called upon to implement energy saving policies, conduct expertise and energy audits, and organize energy management.
